🧠 How the AI Works

Every title in our database (movies, books, and TV shows) is analyzed using OpenAI's embedding models to generate a high-dimensional vector — an "AI fingerprint" that captures its themes, tone, pacing, complexity, and emotional resonance.

As you rate titles (1–5 stars), RecommenDex blends the vectors of your rated items into a personal taste vector. This vector is then used to search our growing content database using vector similarity to find titles that are most aligned with your preferences — not just what’s trending.

Once your 12th rating is submitted, your taste vector is created and personalized recommendations appear instantly on your dashboard.
You can continue rating and saving titles to refine your results over time.
